Now I realize that not all of the American Idols are shown in the above picture, but I have a question for you. Who do you think has been the best American Idol winner from the previous 9 seasons? Carrie Underwood? Kelly Clarkson? Kris Allen?

Kris is easily my favorite, but I’m a big fan of David and Kelly, as well.

I would say Kelly just because of her success rate with all her number one songs!! I’m very surprised that Kris is in the lead. He’s cute and all; but come on! lol

Kris is my overwhelming favorite not because of his looks but because he’s a creative and talented musician who can write songs, creatively rearrange songs, and play several instruments. He’s so underrated, but I believe even non-musicians will appreciate him someday (musicians already do).

All of the winners are special, but the one whose music I am addicted to is Kris Allen. I agree with Kara when she remarked after one of his performances on Idol, “When you sing, you make us feel as if you are singing to each one of us, and that is so hard to do.” She also said, “If you can’t feel a Kris Allen performance, then there is something wrong with you.” I don’t know if I would go that far, for some don’t “get” him and they have a right to their opinion, but for those of us who have fallen under his spell… it’s a wonderful place to be. It’s also fun to watch others discover him.

Well said, Leslie. Kris likes to have fun, but he’s also a serious musician. I saw him several times this summer, and he had progressed so much each time. The fun thing is that he never does a song the same way…he changes something on almost every song. He and the band really rock it up live. Sigh…good times!

Kris has been in the spotlight recently and we never hear David Cook songs anymore. People have forgotten just how talented this man is.

My local radio station still plays 2 of David Cook’s songs…Light On and Come Back to Me….both awesome! David’s definitely my favorite Idol of all time. Such a talented singer/songwriter/musician/performer. His 1st post-Idol album is excellent…can’t wait for the new one coming out in a few months!

Kristen – Kris is great live. He picked up alot of fans over the summer touring with Maroon 5, Barenaked Ladies and Lifehouse, and doing shows with Keith Urban, Daughtry, Lady Antebellum, Train. . .

Inasmuch as I hate polls that pit Idol against Idol because I think it’s kind of juvenile…I do understand that the people who post the polls get website hits. So…Q104, where ever you are located…I voted. Anything to show the world that Kris Allen is a force to be reckoned with and not the “America got it wrong” dribble spouted year after year by Ken Warwick and the Idol producers.

Taylor Hicks is the most versatile winner. He shines no matter what type of music he is singing. From Broadway, to Soul, Jazz, Country, Rock or Jam Band he continues to impress me.

I don’t think America ever got it wrong. They always pick the best performer with the most talent. Even Jennifer at that point in time didn’t have the stage presense that she has now. I always voted for the talent, not who I thought would sell most. Of all Taylor is my favorite, a very unique, original voice and a great musician and performer. He can do it all. clarkson and hicks are the only 2 who have had the guts to tell the idol suits to stick it. hicks more than clarkson, but you have to respect them both for that. thye both get my vote

Wow, Kris Allen’s fans have overwhelmed this board. Kris is talented & cute, but unfortunately not selling too many albums. I also like Taylor Hicks. He’s also very talented. In fact, of all the male AI winners, I think he’s the only one that could make it big in Hollywood. He’s handsome, talented & a good actor.

But early sales of the first album sales clearly aren’t everything. Kris had a single go platinum & stay on the charts for almost an entire year. The single was ranked high among all 2010 songs. Not many idols can say that about their first year following their debut. Also, Kris has been able to continue doing the charitable work he’s done all his life. I predict that both Kris & Taylor will continue to have success.

Kris Allen is my favorite!!I agree that all of these winners are talented, however when it comes to singing a song it makes you feel like he is singing it to you. I have seen him twice in concert and Kris and his band are fantastic!!! His creativity with covers and original songs are crazy good!!! He is defintely underrated and has not gotten that little push from management because he was not their favorite to win that season. He will just get better and better and he “will be a force to be reconed with in the future”!!!!!!!

I like all the idol winners, they are all unique, but Kris Allen is definitely underrated. He is talented, and loves music. To me, he is the most natural and easy to identify with. Flaunting a style, keeping up with the Joneses is not what he is about. Right now, he has it all, a career, a beautiful wife that loves him, a supportive family, a great voice, and a future that so many people would love to have. He is in a really good place.

All of the Idols have worked extremely hard and have been through the AI grind to get their title, so I put no one down. However, my fave is a man who pushes himself constantly, who absolutely loves what he is doing and will do in the future (he is always looking for new goals). He wants to be not just a singer but the ultimate entertainer and endure for many, many years. He wants to sing, play as many musical instruments as possible, act, dance, whatever it takes to make his audience happy. He is like a sponge and will do his best to get advice from those who are now tops in the industry so that he too can reach his goals. That man, if you haven’t already figured it out, is TAYLOR HICKS! Taylor, thank you for being such a fascinating and entertaining Idol to follow.
